It is actually illegal to sell these "proxys" See Wizards policy on Counterfeit Cards

" Policy Regarding Proxies and Counterfeits
Proxies

Proxies are substitute cards created solely by judges in sanctioned tournaments pursuant to the official tournament rules. These substitutes are allowed when authorized game cards become unplayable during a sanctioned tournament because of damage or excessive wear. Proxies do not include any graphical reproduction of their intended substitutes.
Counterfeits

Counterfeits are copies or reproductions of actual Wizards trading cards, whether or not they are identified as non-genuine. The creation and distribution of counterfeits violate United States and international copyright laws and negatively affects the integrity of Wizards’ trading card games. Counterfeits are strictly prohibited, even for personal, non-commercial use."

No, Distributing Counterfeit magic cards is against copyright law, just like how I can't sell burned DVD's of Films on here. Wotc has taken people to court for selling them on ebay. There is nothing wrong with altering a card, but printing a card with copyrighted artwork & copyright images & template is very against the law. "Proxys" are ONLY issued by a judge during a santaioned tournament, anything else is COUNTERFEIT. Though I'm sure wotc doesn't really care about some random site that isn't ebay or amazon. Ebay still bans accounts that sell "proxys". This policy is the entire reason the "alter" community exists. Printing your own shiny Jace to play with is fine to do, as long as you don't use the copyrighted artwork, mana symbols, or template of a magic card. This is why most people paint on the actual cards, because they can still sell them legally, and still play them in sanctioned events. Playing with your alters at FNM is a great way to get business. But I digress, anything printed with wizards copyrighted material that is not made by wizards is considered a counterfeit card. And according to wizards site, it is against copyright law to distribute it. Fell free to argue any point your like, but it is in black and white on their site. Either it was issued by a judge in a tourney, which they got back at the end of, or It is a counterfeit card.
