The listing, TIERED AUCTION #2 - PEYTON MANNING has ended.
Let's talk about value. The starting bid for any auction should reflect the relative value of the lot. In this specific auction, the starting bid is significantly below the value of the cards. 3500 credits is about $13 in Listia value. The true $ value of the lot is somewhere between $75 - 100 which is actually reflected in the GIN bid of 32000 credits which is $80 in Listia value. A GIN bid, as you are probably aware of, is offered primarily as a convenience to the bidder to insure he gets the lot he wants rather than risk losing it from the start bid. GINs are frequently not a good indicator of lot value, but in this case it's spot on. For $ value I research BUY NOW lisitings on EBAY. There are other sources of valuation such as AMAZON, COMC, or Beckett, but I don't have the time to research them all. So you may not agree with my $ evaluation but it's the best I can do. You have the option of not bidding if you disagree with the start and GIN settings. I will occasionally lower the bids to accommodate a request from a bidder, as I've don with this auction, but not all the time. I think the start bid on this lot is too low but the GIN is right on the money. Peyton is one of the premiere players of all time and should command a premium whenever his cards are offered.
