Description

The listing, TIERED AUCTION #2 - PEYTON MANNING has ended.

Let's talk about value. The starting bid for any auction should reflect the relative value of the lot. In this specific auction, the starting bid is significantly below the value of the cards. 3500 credits is about $13 in Listia value. The true $ value of the lot is somewhere between $75 - 100 which is actually reflected in the GIN bid of 32000 credits which is $80 in Listia value. A GIN bid, as you are probably aware of, is offered primarily as a convenience to the bidder to insure he gets the lot he wants rather than risk losing it from the start bid. GINs are frequently not a good indicator of lot value, but in this case it's spot on. For $ value I research BUY NOW lisitings on EBAY. There are other sources of valuation such as AMAZON, COMC, or Beckett, but I don't have the time to research them all. So you may not agree with my $ evaluation but it's the best I can do. You have the option of not bidding if you disagree with the start and GIN settings. I will occasionally lower the bids to accommodate a request from a bidder, as I've don with this auction, but not all the time. I think the start bid on this lot is too low but the GIN is right on the money. Peyton is one of the premiere players of all time and should command a premium whenever his cards are offered.

A SIMPLE TIERED AUCTION. WATCH THE COMMENTS FOR UPDATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll start off with his UPPER DECK XL Jersey Card.
For every 500 credits bid over the starting bid I will add 2 cards up to a maximum of 50.

Shipping will depend on the number of cards won.

SAVE TIME - DO THE GIN AND GET 67 MANNINGS (50 PEYTON, 12 ELI & 3 ARCHIE) CARDS PLUS THE JERSEY CARD AND A SURPRISE BONUS.

do you have a list of the cards with the GIN?

Before I give you a list, I need to tell you that the description of the GIN was a little misleading and I've since corrected it. It said "65 Peytons" but it's not. The GIN gets a total of 74 items - 50 Peyton, 14 Eli & 3 Archie, plus the Peyton Jersey Card plus 6 Peyton Jumbo refrigerator magnets (photos of Peyton printed on magnetic paper).

I needed to tell you that because I don't want you thinking you're getting 65 Peyton for the GIN, it's actually only 57 Peytons including the jersey card, plus the 14 Elis and 3 Archies for a total of 74 cards.

If you are still seriously interested, I'll give you a list of the cards but only if your seriously interested because the list will be time consuming and I don't want to do it just to satisfy a curiosity urge.

Thanks, Rick

No problem, and yes very serious, I will tell you sort of what I am looking for as well so we don't do any unnecessary work. ;) I simply am trying to obtain all Topps Mannings from 98 through present, not so much worried about autos, relics, etc. I make framed art from the cards that then either go on my wall or get donated to charity auctions. Either way 57 Peytons is good. How about just letting me know which Topps cards are included and highlight some of the other cards that justify a 39K in your opinion, GIN. Sound ok? Please don't take that last sentence as doubting your integrity, just need to know what I am getting is all. Thanks for the reply, details, and the pending list. Best, Grady

No problem, Grady, glad to do it. Here it is:

TOPPS (19)
2012 Card #360 (Draft picks reprint)
1999 FINEST Card #1 (chrome with protective film)
2002 - Card #292 (Weekly Wrap Up)

4 More copies of 2012 #350

EDGE (4)
2000 T3 Chrome Card #59
2000 SUPREME Card #59
1999 ADVANTAGE (GOLD INGOT) Card #67
2000 SUPREME #59

UPPER DECK (7)
2008 ICONS Gold #41
2008 STARQUEST Insert Card #SQ25
2001 Card #68
2000 Card #88
2001 (MVP) Card #106
2003 Card #51
2000 (MVP) Card #66

The remaining 20 cards are all premium brands including a refractor, some chrome and a couple textured cards. The GIN BONUS includes the magnetic cards, 14 Eli Manning, mostly TOPPS, and 3 Archie Mannings from the 1994 Ted Williams product. The relic (jersey) card is 2002 Upper Deck Card #SSPM.

The GIN price of 32000 (I lowered it keep the $ figure manageable) is equivalent to $80 on Listia. The $ value of these cards on the web is something I'll post to the auction description but is significantly more than $80.

Hope this information is useful to you Brady. Thanks for your interest.
