its confusing the way they label them, we have one for each of our dogs , both dogs look the same size but my boxer has bigger bones and a wider girth and we use a large on her but my springer who looks the same size standing has to use a medium cause she has smaller bone structure and shes a hairbag lol it makes her appear bigger then she is i guess! :) we used to have a rot. and he wore the large.size. he was huge and towered over the boxer .but they both wore the same size harness lol. although going by the size chart in inches the boxer should wear a medium. it was too tight on her so we upped her to the large both for her safety and for comfort. :) hope that rambling helped some lol

it doesnt go by weight it goes by girth size, and it is adjustable for 28- 36" girths. as a dog may have large bone structure but low weight or the other way around and be over weight for bone structure. it is generally used on large breed dogs.or med breed with higher weight! :) hope this helps

:) yup. you want to make sure he/she fits in size guidline if its like 27" its ok but if overs not good cause it will be tight and uncomfortable. :)
