It reads the chip our government has been puting in babies since 1975 *........ (long silence :-p... ) Kidding of course!, on computer controled cars most have a "self diagnostic" this reads the fault codes that display & tells you what is wrong with the system.... Gail :-)

It uses an Atomic Power Cell & ya have to wear a lead shield when ever you use it.......................... (long.. relly long pause... :-p) *yikers!* KIDDING OF COURSE!... it is powered from the vehicle it is plugged into :-) >plugs into the diognostic port, you read the code then consult the included code book :-)
