The listing, World War II V MAIL FORM has ended.
During World War II, a new method of sending letters overseas was developed called V-Mail. A person would write their letter on a VMAIL form, it would be photographed and the film containing hundreds of letters would be shipped in Europe or the Pacific to troops there. This took less space and less weight than if actual letters were mailed. Overseas, the letters would be printed from the film and distributed to the soldier or sailor. This unique bit of postal and World War II history is up for auction. NOTE THE VMAIL POSTER SHOWN ABOVE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE AUCTION, THE AUCTION IS FOR THE VMAIL FORM SHOWN FRONT AND BACK ABOVE.
