Description

The listing, One Troy Ounce .999 Silver Coin Christmas 2001 has ended.

"Wise Men Still Believe" is the theme of the enchanting and detailed artwork on this solid silver (.999) coin--one troy ounce. Beautifully detailed on both sides, with the Holy Family on one side, and 2001 on the other. It also is marked "1 troy ounce,"and ".999 pure silver."

The other coins I have had on Listia had a tag with them that they were produced by Amataki Bullion & Coins in Summerfield, N.C., but if this one had a tag I don't have it now. It is perfect, no tarnish, and sealed in its original plastic sleeve. I bought it to give as a gift and never gave it, so now it's a gift to YOU!

Free shipping to both the US and Canada FIRST CLASS.

If you want upgraded shipping (Priority and/or tracking to the US or Canada) you will need to send me Paypal for the difference ($3 US and $9 to Canada).

Please see my other listings, mostly findings and beads but sometimes I mix it up a bit. I generally list a few items each night ... check my FRESH listings at http://www.listia.com/profile/auctions/28303!

WARNING to bidders ... many bids placed in the last minute never register because Listia's servers can get overwhelmed and slow down. If you want something PLEASE place your bid at LEAST one minute before the auction end--before it's too late!

Thanks! It's my last one, I had four to begin with but the other three have gone to Listia winners already! When I ship I conceal the fact that it's a coin, so it should arrive safely.

Was the back of this meant to be engraved so you can gift it?

I don't think so. I think it's meant to be a momento of the season for that year, but basically it's just a silver collectible. People have always collected precious metals, and lots of manufacturers out there try to make them pretty!

Sunday nights are always the busiest nights for auctions (true on ebay too). They are the best time to end auctions, but the problem on Listia is that their servers just can't handle the traffic. Bid at LEAST a minute in advance.

Personally, I don't babysit auctions. I tend to put in the highest bid I'm willing to offer during the day before it ends, and if I get outbid, I'm okay with that. The larger problem is that if you are bidding on one thing after another you need to manage your credits. But it's really better to have the high bid in early. As the credits climb a lot of bidders will go onto the next item they are interested in. That's my strategy anyway.

At a live auction, all the bidders wait for the auctioneer to bring the item down to $1, $5, whatever the minimum is. If it's something I want and know I'll pay $100 or more, for example, I just toss out a $100 bid right off the bat, then usually MOST of the other bidders will back down and lose interest. I think I get better deals a lot of the time doing that!
