George Brett was a baseball institution. Over 3000 hits, 2 batting titles, an MVP award in 1980 ... George Brett almost singlehandedly put the Kansas City Royals on the map, making them a truly competitive franchise long before Bo Jackson came along, and his "Pine Tar" home run against the Yankees has become one of the most indelible baseball images of the 1980s.
