Description

The listing, Cayenne Pepper Heirloom seeds (15) has ended.

cayenne grows to 3 feet tall. well-branched and bushy.Cayenne fruit is long 3-8 inches and slender 1/2-1 inch wide. The immature pods are green maturing to scarlet. They are normally harvested at the red stage.
It is moderately hot ranging from 30,000-50,000 Scoville Heat Units. The cayenne plant produces pods or peppers that have a key ingredient called capsaicin, a chemical that gives the peppers their hotness and causes the explosive and heat-filled reaction many receive after just a brief taste of the pepper.
Benefits-Regular intake of cayenne pepper can lead to improved blood circulation, relief from heart attack, cramps, varicose veins, constipation, allergies, sore throat and toothache.
Consider this: cayenne, through the instrumentality of its secondary metabolite capsaicin (pronounced cap-say-sin), is scientifically proven to kill prostate cancer cells, among other fantastic health benefits, and that is just the beginning as to the benefits of this humble, nondescript herb.
Much scientific research has been initiated to validate what naturopathic practitioners have known for years: It can stop heart attacks, nourish the heart with vital nutrients, remove plaque from the arteries, help rebuild flesh destroyed or harmed by frostbite, heal hemorrhoids, re-build stomach tissue, heal stomach ulcers, fortify your overall health, and mitigate the most wrenching of diseases.
Continuing, it improves circulation, rebuilds blood cells, lowers cholesterol, emulsifies triglycerides, removes toxins from the bloodstream and improves overall heart health. It's even a great insect repellent.
As mentioned, it can also heal ulcers, which seems contradictory considering its native calidity or heat. It immediately equalizes blood pressure in your system, and heals the gall bladder too.It has wonderful, scientifically-proven antifungal properties as well.here is a great link for info on heirlooms.http://howtosaveseeds.com/seedsavingdetails.php

yes they are 100%, we use compost from our farm animals, and left over garden material. We also are lucky enough to live on Menard creek, and that is the water source for all our veggies and flowers. as far as insect sprays we do not use them, if it is a must we use a mixture of dish soap and water and that will kill most of your garden pest, here is a good link for recipes to make some of these things http://luffa.info/luffaharvest.htm

Great information, nice auction! I sprinkle cayenne on almost everything, even scrambled eggs, lol. I did not know about capsaicin for toothaches and cancer cells. Nice to know! Already a fan & watching.
