Description

The listing, World War II V-Mail Form has ended.

World War II V-Mail form. During the war, letters were photographed off of V-Mail forms as film took up less space and weight than did actual letters. The film would be processed overseas and printed with GI getting the copy. The form is in unused condition and is an interesting piece of WWII history. The auction is for one V-Mail form. The front and back are shown here along with a V-Mail poster of WWII. NOTE THE V-MAIL POSTER ILLUSTRATED IS NOT INCLUDED IN AUCTION BUT ADDED FOR HISTORICAL ILLUSTRATION ONLY!
Questions & Comments

The form is interesting to look at, please enlarge to see details like where the mail censor would put his stamp. Many a GI would find out news from home about births and deaths in the family, how the old high school team was doing, and most of all they weren't forgotten. V-mail was a unique part of World War II history.
