This item was purchased for my work at a local radio station...I was LAID OFF before I ever got to use it. It has been sitting for 2 years in a box that I used to clean out my desk and locker with! It is in perfect condition and still sells on Amazon.com for $129.99.

Yes, it works independently.

It does not need a computer...you can transfer files to a computer if you want to edit the recording for a commercial ( that's how I would have usexd it).

Does it takes batteries if so what kind? Does it have a lock in place button so the other buttons don't get pushed or bumped on accident? Thanks

It uses 2 AAA batteries. It has a HOLD button on the side that locks out all the other buttons. Cbcdave

HQ Mode =35 hours
SP Mode =70 hours
LP Mode = 221 hours
