Proof? No proof. I'd think that would be up to the manufacturer to put on the box but there's no warnings anywhere on the box. I think it's a replacement/change out shade for use w/ an IKEA cord set. I looked it up on the internet and it said do not use over a 60 watt bulb. That's all I know about it :) Thanks for watching :)
