battery operated and the alarm has to be set theres buttons no the back for this

was wondering because the clock that I own (very similar to yours) :) is battery operated and it still chimes/makes noise on each hour.

yes battery operated and no does not chime every hour how ever bi does have an alarm

ok i looked it does have an alarm but dont see that it has chimes it has an on off switch on back but couldnt get it to chime it metal i know i have never heard it chime we have had it for yrs

no the face plate is not peeling that is part of the decoration kind of an antiqueing its gold paint thats on the in side

i dont know how old it is and yes i believe it does have a serial number4re603 yes it is accurate no as far as i have noticed it does not lose time

well apparently u dont read my posted msgs because i did answer it the answer was no as far as i know it does not lose time and it is accurate but it is battery operated after all so what more do you want to know
