Stores contacts, emails, schedules, memos. Has clock, calculator, alarm and much more!! A great item. This is brand new but did open the side to be sure it worked.

does it run on batteries, if so, what kind?

It runs on 1 lithium battery that is installed. 3V-(DC), lithium battery is what is listed on the manual. As listed I opened the side to see that it works and it does. It is brand new though.
