Description
The listing, 1883 San Carlos Apache Reservation Arizona Territory 5 Dollar Trade Coin has ended.
VERY RARE! A TOKEN OR COIN, that is solid metal. It has "San Carlos Apache Reservation 1883 Arizona Territory" on one side. The other side has "U.S. Dept. of Indian Affairs" and "Value $5 Meat Salt Tobacco". It measures 1 1/2 inches. In 1875 many Native Americans were forced to move from their traditional lands and walk 180 miles to internment facilities at San Carlos. Before you ask, I honestly don't know if this is the real deal, but I do believe it is legit.
Questions & Comments
Actually, this is a "fantasy" piece with no basis in history or reality, similiar to the fake "US Marshal" & "Railroad Special Deputy" badges, or the fake "Wells Fargo" locks and "Territory Corpse" tags that have made the rounds on eBay and other internet sites....they're neat and interesting--but not real.
