It is with regret that I must give a lesson in manners to those few members who may not have learned them. If you don’t agree with the following terms, please do not bid:

> I ship on the first Tuesday after auction’s end.

> I try to be accurate with descriptions, especially for used items. Used items are not synonymous with new. Some items or their encasement may show some wear. If I neglect to describe the aforesaid thoroughly, it is not intentional deception. Everyone has a different view as to quality.

I just watched the movie for the first time a few days ago. It is definitely in English. I purchased it from Movie Gallery when they were going out of business. As for my disclaimer, it is unfortunate that I have to be so explicit to such a small minority of members. Listia's membership has improved greatly since they started, but there are still a few who find fault with everything.

AMEN to that. People not only get brand new or used in great shape items, then they want free shipping as well. It's great for those who can afford to offer F.S. but not all of us can.And over three months ago I mailed, proved I mailed the item to winning bidder. She left neutral feedback, but it basically said I never really sent item. Yesterday she messages me here to tell me it was in her mailbox that day.. No I'm sorry and will change feedback, just wanted me to know what I already did, that I mail it over 3 months ago. Roe

i am so sorry for your bad experience. As opposed to the other seller, I want your business, not your comtempt. If I were you, I would block that seller in kind so that you don't run into her again. No one is well-seasoned here. This site just celebrated its one-year birthday; however, I am a 12-year eBay seller and know how to do positive transactions. The majority of the buyers and sellers on this site are reasonable. Those who are not should be treated accordingly.

As a newer Listia member I appreciate your total honesty and clear communication. Just the other day I asked a well-seasoned buyer to clarify her auction listing, because it was unclear, and she got rude and threw a fit, blocked me and then went through and spammed all my auctions with a beware sign. She followed that up with a comment on her auction that new members don't know how to conduct themselves on here, as if she was a shining example, lol.

Despite what the government says and does, things are getting worse. We are in a depression. I sell small ticket items at flea markets and people are slow to spend a quarter. I am an early retiree with low income and low bills. I feel very wealthy and very fortunate.

its a shame about the Movie Gallery and Blockbusters. They have went out of business in my area too but Family Video is taking over so thats good news. I just hate to see people loosing their jobs. The economy has to pick up soon or I dont know what people are gonna do.

When I listed items requiring shipping payment, I posted a similar disclaimer. My strategy has changed. i've drastically tweaked the disclaimer you read.. Those who find the sarcasm amusing (but serious) are prospectively good customers. Here it is:

SELLER’S TERMS:

It is with regret that I must educate manners to those few members who may not have learned them. If you don’t agree with the following terms, please do not bid:

> I ship on the first Tuesday after auction’s end. If won items were my rare, lifesaving B+ blood, or one of my kidneys, exceptions would suffice.

> I try to accurately describe each item. Used items are not synonymous with new. Some items or their encasement (undoubtedly made for abuse because cases are designed to protect) may show some wear. If I overlook the aforesaid, it is not a con attempt or intentional deception. Everyone has a different view of acceptability.

> Since this item is considered free, and shipping is at my expense, unappreciative persons and nitpickers shall be blocked, without advance notice, from future auctions. Communication with unreasonable persons shall cease the moment they reveal themselves.

> I have nothing to gain but grief for clandestinely posting defective items. Any remarkable defects shall be indicated in the description. I want to hear from you if you receive an unintended defective item. I aspire to correct valid problems before judgment is passed via feedback; however, I wish to be addressed with the same respect expected from me.

> Since the postal service delivers your package, alert your local post office to poor handling or outrageous delays. It’s flattering, but I am not to be confused with the Postmaster General.

I appreciate the kudos. I've been with Listia since the beginning and believe me, the members have improved expotentially; however, there are still some unappreciative stragglers. I have a different reason for listing on Listia as opposed to eBay. It is a profitable strategy involving flea marketing. You'll rarely see anymore than two listings at one time on this site under my name. I've sold on eBay for 12 years and will continue to do so --- until they price themselves out of business. Feel free to copy-paste my terms and revise them to your liking. Believe me, a strong message works.
