Artist Jerry Parker created Commemorative .999 pure fine Silver stamps for Canada and US in the late 1960's

~~An anodized finish is a protective and decorative finish for metals, primarily aluminum, created by thickening the metal's natural oxide layer through an electrochemical process. This process involves submerging the metal in an acid electrolyte bath and applying a direct current to encourage the formation of a thicker, harder, and more durable oxide layer than what forms naturally. The resulting finish is porous and can be dyed with metal salts or organic dyes, then sealed, to provide long-lasting, integral color that resists peeling and fading.

Earlier vessels that crossed partially under steam include the British-built Dutch-owned Curaçao in 1827 and the sail-steam hybrid SS Savannah in 1819.
