The listing, 1998 P Lincoln Cent Error-Obverse Die Gouge-B.U. has ended.
Very nice, heavy, die gouge on the obverse behind Lincoln's jacket. Genuine as made by the U.S. Mint. A die gouge occurs when a foreign object, like another die, a hammer, or even a grinder, strikes or is dragged across the die face during the coin-making process, creating a defect. These gouges appear as raised areas or bulges on the coin's surface, usually on the fields (the area around the design) but can sometimes appear on the design itself. Mailed correctly and shipped free.
