Description
The listing, 1871 U.S. Int. Revenue $2.00 Scott #R82c-Fine/Used/H has ended.
This is especially nice as it was cancelled by a company in New York and is clearly visible on this stamp. The cancel is from Williams & Guion. In the 1800s, Williams & Guion, a New York-based firm founded by John Stanton Williams and Stephen Barker Guion, operated the Black Star Line of sailing packets on the Liverpool-Queenstown-New York route, later evolving into the Guion Line of British steamship. Mailed correctly and shipped free. Some really cool history here.
