The listing, CONFEDERATE GEN. J.E. JOHNSTON ENGRAVED PICTURE has ended.
Steel plate engraved picture of Confederate Gen. J. E. Johnston, last major general to surrender to the Union, in 1865 ending the Civil War. The print is believed to be from about 1870 and has "engraved by H. B. Hall, NY" under the portrait and Gen. Joe E. Johnston under the engraved autograph. The print is matted under a professionally cut Confederate gray 8 x 10 beveled matte. The size makes it nice to framing. The only damage appears to be a small spot near upper right hand corner (visible in picture) and a small brown age spot to left of portrait. The picture was scanned darker to show aging more clearly. Outside two mentioned spots, the picture shows very little visible aging. This is a great gift for the Civil War buff or historian on this 150th anniversary of the Civil War.
