The connection speed will depend on your internet bandwidth and service. It has little if anything to do with the USB connector. All it does is communicate between your router and your PC.

most wireless adapters have a max benchmark speed such as 54mbps which is typical but there are some that will allow up to 64 mbps. Do you know which one your unit allows. Either is fine its just helpful information to help me decide how aggressively I should bid.

It will work on both PC and laptop and I as far as your first question, it will reach 900 feet but I am not quite sure what you are asking.
