FREE: IBM Thinkpad 380XD

Hello, today I'm putting up my old IBM Thinkpad 380XD.

I must warn you, this is not an everyday computer but more of a collectors item. Please use common sense before bidding.

This computer is from 1997 and originally came with Windows 95 on a 3.2GB harddrive.

The processors is a Intel Pentium Processor clocked at 233 MHz.

It contains a whopping 32MB of RAM built onto the logicboard with a slot underneath the computer for uprades. (Max limit for RAM is 96MB.)

I have replaced the original 3.2GB harddrive with a 40GB harddrive.

CMOS battery is dead and upon boot you will be greeted with three error codes and the option to either 'OK' or 'Cancel', clicking 'OK' will ask for you set the time and date and booting will continue. Clicking 'Cancel' will stop the booting process and stay on the error screen. You can easily but a replacement CMOS battery, I have never gotten around to it.

It comes with no operating system, it will only run when plugged into the charger. The battery has been dead for years and I have emptied out the battery casing in an attempt at swapping out the dead batteries with new ones. (failed)

It does not have a built in modem and you will have to buy a PCMCIA modem if you wish to access the internet on it.

This is the first model in the 380 Thinkpad lineup that includes a USB port.

It comes with a floppy and CD drive built in with the ability to boot from either.

I will also throw in a Targus computer case, serial cables, car charger, and extra rubber mouse caps.

This is great for any computer collector.
