Description

The listing, iPod Touch 1st generation 8GB AS-IS (needs new battery) has ended.

Up for auction is a first-generation 8GB iPod Touch which probably needs a new battery. I am auctioning it AS-IS.

Screen is in good condition with minor scuffs and no cracks. One small dent in the metal back, no major scratches. Everything works (screen, WiFi, buttons, etc.) but it will not stay powered on for more than 5-10 minutes.

Charging from my PC or wall charger doesn't seem to do anything, it just stays on the "please charge me" screen forever (photo #3). There is also some cloudiness on the screen as you can see in photo #6.

I will try to charge this the best I can before shipping out, but when you get it, the battery will PROBABLY be drained to where you only see the red battery screen. It will not be able to be used until you replace the battery.

Please see photos for all details. I'm pretty sure you could replace the battery and you'd have a fine iPod. I just don't have the time!

Fast FREE shipping in the USA! From a smoke-free home.

I don't have an extra charger so this auction is just for the iPod.

Okay I see that the battery itself is basically screwed. If it remains connected to a charger, it will work, however, right? Just trying to get a bearing on this before I bid.

Battery is definitely bad and doesn't charge. I suppose it charges a TINY bit when the backlight is completely off (you have to trick it) which is how I got these photos showing that it WILL work with a new battery.

The problem is that because the battery level is so low, iOS wants to shut the iPod down. So even if it's connected to a charger, it will only last 4-5 minutes.

Hope that helps!

Sorry, I can't ship this item internationally. The USPS will NOT ship anything with a Lithium-Ion battery internationally starting May 16.

Puerto Rico is USPS domestic, cause is a USA territorial island, you can check at the post office, just to let you now. Thanks anyway.

I would love to (and I HAVE shipped other items to US territories for free in the past) but I did check with my post office, and the rule on items with Lithium-Ion batteries (even a bad battery like this one) is:

Until such time that a less restrictive policy can be implemented consistent with international standards... lithium batteries of any form shall be prohibited when mailed internationally or to an APO, FPO, or DPO location outside the of the United States (including its territories).

Sorry :(
