Description

The listing, 1901 Greek Overprint, ZigZag Perf and More! (37 Stamps) has ended.

Greek overprint stamps are very interesting with the mythology and mysterious symbol / writing.

The red stamp in the very last photo shows the 1902 stamp. It is Giovanni da Bologna's Hermes. Giovanni was a sculptor. Overprinted "Greek Administration"
For the parts of Turkey newly occupied by Greece (New Greece) that were to be incorporated into Greece, the overprint - "Greek Administration"-was initially used. Here is the overprint on a "Flying Hermes" stamp.

The 10 red-orange stamps are from 1911 through 1921 and you can see different images (Iris holding Caduceus top left, with each one a different overprint of various horizontal and some vertical same with the green stamps (Hermes Donning Sandals, top right).

Also note the "zigzag" perforation, instead of the usual more rounded.

in 1912/1913: overprinted ???????? ?????????, with black and red inks, reading-up and reading-down, in 1912/1913: overprinted ??????, with black and red inks, et,

Sorry for the repeated question marks in the description as I was typing it up.... I just copied the symbols that you see on some of the stamps that I found online, and when I put them in the description, they showed up as symbols, but apparently..... when I clicked LIST, it did not transfer, LOL... Thanks so much for bidding!
