I can't possibly say enough good things about Keith Hernandez. One of the greatest draft steals ever, Hernandez was drafted in the 42nd round of the 1971 draft. During a 17 year career with the Cardinals and Mets (and 43 games with the Indians) he ended up winning 11 Gold Gloves, 2 Silver Sluggers, appeared in 5 All-Star games, won MVP in 1979 and finished as the runner up to Ryne Sandberg in the MVP vote in 1984. Now THAT is one fine 42nd round pick!
keith has also appeared as a broadcaster, in several TV commercials, and as a recurring chacter on "Seinfeld", playing himself.
