nope not civil war-era they are the same ones you would find on the uniforms today. how far from rolla are you?

I have to agree that they don't appear to be Civil war era but more modern. Still a real neat find and curious as to what they were doing there.

i don't know anything about buttons i think there may have been a house there at one time as there was an old rock foundation near by

i know that in the 50's early 60's camp crowder was an active training base for the army which is around 30 miles from where they were found and McDonald county missouri was a hot spot for weekenders camping and other activities thanks for looking
