The Benz-Gant Helioflex 3000T is camera designed for beginners! It is a fixed-focus camera that uses 35mm film. The lens is 50mm, and has an adjustable f-stop (f:6.3 for cloudy/rainy days to f:16 for bright sun). Those setting are applicable for 100 ASA film. If you use a higher speed film (ASA 400 or 800), you can use the lowest f-stop for inside shots without a flash.

Speaking of the flash, one is included. On the back you'll find a table that relates the film speed (ASA), the distance to your subject, and the f-stop to be used to obtain the best possible picture. Tested and working as designed!

You can select between normal images (4" x 6") or Panoramic. The Panoramic setting is best for nature shots, to get the widest view possible!

Also included is a fully-adjustable tripod, and a shutter-release cable for use in very low light situations, when holding the camera in your hand would produce a blurred images.

Everything comes in a fitted case; a bit large for carrying around, but great for storage. I'll even throw in a roll of 24-exposure, 200 ASA film so you can shoot pix as soon as you get it.

The camera is manually-wound, so no batteries are required for it. The flash takes two (2) "AA" batteries.

This would be a great starter camera for a young child (10-12 years); they need to be old enough to figure out which f-stop to use, but the camera isn't so expensive that you'll worry about it getting broken! IMHO, the best way to learn how to take photos is with film, manipulating as many of the controls as possible! When the camera does everything for you, you can't manipulate one or two setting to create unusual effects.
