they will, zone 4 is MUCH colder, if you look at a plant zone map, zone 10 is closer to the equator, zone 1 is closer to the North Pole... brr

Lilacs are my fav. flower. i just saw on a website you need to prune the bush to help it grow better. i always thought you did not need to do anything to it. i will be pruning from now on.
