I have not seen those ads & I'm not a jeweler, but I just know it is marked .925. I bought the ring, is is lovely but is tight on my finger.

I have no doubt that what you say is true. none at all. And it's a beautiful ring. But, a 925 stamp doesnt always mean a piece is sterling. Many of the stamped rings now are just plated. Plated is good, too. It's just not 'Sterling Silver". Many people are allergic to things only plated, so it's good for them to know for sure. It is very pretty. I'm sorry it doesnt fit you. =)
