Just some info: This model is exclusively made for the 2nd and 3rd gen ipods. I had one that I sold to a friend who had a 4th gen. The only problem is that the 4th gen will not fit AS snug as a 2nd or 3rd and of course the backfacing camera will be inhibited by the case, however it does charge fine when connected to the case.
