Description
The listing, Teach Yourself to Rug Braid! An Authentic Traditional & GREEN craft ~ Instructions emailed to winner has ended.
There are 14 pages of text and photos of how to do the old fashioned craft of Rug Braiding. Also sometimes called Rag Rugs... you can utilize scraps of coordinating material to make beautiful and useful 'artwork' for your home. I've posted a sample but there are many shapes you can make - ovals, hearts, even baskets! I will email the winner scanned copies of what I have collected over the years. PS - I also offer extended support to the winner of the auction ... happy to help teach a new craft!
Questions & Comments
would love to learn the old tradition of rug braiding
Its time consuming but soooo rewarding! Honestly, its kind of like quilting but MUCH easier! There is room for 'errors' and even at that, it tends to lend itself to the kitchy charm of the finished project.
when I was a kid back in the late 1960 early 1970 i had a friend she was like a mom to me and she was in her 80s we use to make rag rug and resale them to people in her church and outhers we made good money for the times
