This is an old skeleton key. On the key part is the number 31...the other side is blank.

The handle of the key is slightly bent. The third pic shows this.

Is there any way to actually date these? I keep seeing them on Listia and other sites, and they are very interesting, but can anyone answer this question?

I personally do no know anything about these...I just know they are old. Our house is very very old and they were here when we moved in. I'm still finding one here and there. I think this house is around 80 yrs old.
