The listing, New - Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James has ended.
Up for auction today is a brand new trade paperback of the #1 New York Times Besteller Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. I actually won it in a Listia rewards auction, but then later bid on the entire trilogy, so I have an extra copy.
If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment or contact me directly. As always, thanks for looking, happy bidding, and good luck!
Questions & Comments
Have heard it is a pretty rough book and that some libraries have even banned it. Is it that bad or people just overreacting
I have seen some TV reports that say it has a lot of erotic scenes, and they read an excerpt that had been heavily edited. I'm personally not too thrilled with that; I don't have a problem with it and certainly don't judge others who read it, but it's more important to me that it's a well written piece of fiction, not that it contains "soft porn," as some people have said.
Saturday Night Live had a Hillarious skit for mothers day about this book...did ya see it? Should look it up on the Saturday Nigh Live webpage....soooo funny! Got me interested...lol.
Still a good book (first 2 at least--haven't read the first) but not for the faint of heart!! She doesn't have the greatest writing abilities, but this is her first go at writing...not too shabby for being new at it! There are ALOT of sex scenes. and the F word is used ALOT. But there's an underlying love story that gets you drawn in. You end up wanting to know what happens to them as their relationship grows. And the SNL skit is HILARIOUS!!
Hmmm...I'm not too thrilled to hear that you don't think she has the greatest writing abilities. I'll probably read the first 30-50 pages of this book and, if it's not for me, I guess everyone else will benefit because I'll be putting a brand new copy of the entire trilogy up for auction!
It is the first in the series. I think I mistakenly put in my listing that it is the second, but I double checked my copy to confirm it is the first. Thanks for your question and good luck bidding!
