dell doesn't ask for key code .

windows o/s only 30 days without k/codes on others computer.i have the dell xp pro.
o/s with sp1,and i can download onto another computer that not dell,but it will ask for k/codes for actv. within the 30 days.don't have the k/codes,wins genuine will block the o/s at the end of 30 days,if not sooner.
maybe dell xp.pro.sp2 wont ask for the k/codes.wont know till i try it.so i going to bid
on it.i need it for my ibm thinkpad laptop.

i installed on my other hp /pc 5 months ago and it still on never ask me for a key if you have xp on your pc now the key code is on the back of the pc if you never had xp installed it doing an upgrade

I know Win7 does ask for key code after 30 days and will block if don't have one

My wife bought a used computer at a Salvation Army Store that had an XP op sys in it. No indication of a key code for it. The computer works, but when you power up it will show a box that tells you that it is not an official MS XP product and it will not allow any upgrades. Also every 5 to 10 minutes you get a box telling you that that it is not the system for the computer and buy the official XP system. Don't know if this will help or not, I do know that this computer is slower then my great grandma and drives me up the wall when I'm forced to use it.

if it dell you will have no prob. dell doesnt ask for a key just make sure you boot from the cd and delete all partaions the dics will allow you to do this
