Description

The listing, Beethoven Commemorative Coin From Austia has ended.

My music loving mother went to Austria in 1977 to honor and celebrate the 150th year anniversary since Beethoven's death. She brought back this commemorative coin. It's heavy and looks like silver but I was told it's not completely silver. (Quarter is only shown for sizing purposes.)

Each year these coins are harder to find and thus more valuable. How valuable? The coin dealer here said it is now worth about $50 although if he were buying it I'd only get about half that much.

Back of coin is in German and says, "The hands of the great classical music."
