This is about My Grandma. My 89 year old grandma is the most self-less, strongest, genuine $ most courageous person I know. She never ever does anything for herself, even when she knows she needs something really bad.
My grandma needs a new roof and cannot afford it at all. It costs around $4000. Her ceiling is leaking in all of the rooms in her house, especially her bedroom, and because of that shes been sleeping uncomfortably on the living room couch.
I had an idea to try and sell some of her old jewelery for money. Bringing the jewelery to the store, we never thought that we would make more than $100, if even that. When the words "you made about 5000" came out of the jewelers mouth- my grandma and I nearly dropped dead. To make a long story short- I received a letter in the mail the other day alerting me that $5000 towards my incredibly high balance oft college student loans had been paid off. I was in complete shock. In tears, I questioned my grandma who finally admitted, that it was her, who paid off some of my loans, with the money she made from selling her gold. My best friend in the whole world, who has sunken in ceilings and a house that is falling apart, could have easily put that money towards her house and fix it up a lot. But she did what she always does, she put me before her. There wasn't even a question in her mind or any convincing her to take the money back and do what is necessary for her and her house.
I just wanted to share this beautiful story of the love between my grandma and I. She is the most amazing person, grandma, mom and friend- and I am so extremely lucky to have her in my life.

Thank you for letting me share this Denice. It brought tears to my eyes remembering this story and re telling it for you all to share in. This is such a fantastic idea for an auction. Thank you again for giving us all the opportunity to share beautiful memories!!

This is about my "sister" Les Woolery-Dorn. She has been there for through four bad breakups. She opened her home to me in Texas when I needed a vacation. We got close real fast. She supports me in everything I do and is always telling me how beautiful I am. She lost her baby boy Kody December 15, 2011 to neuroblastoma. Just five days before his first birthday. Although she is still hurting from the loss she is still always here for me

A story of peace love unity and respect or.. PLUR!! I live by plur. Well, heres two #1. I would be homeless if it wasn't for my mom. She lets me live here with my boyfriend and 5 kids, thats 7 of us! We irritate her but she takes it all in stride and we try to make her happy! :) #2. My boyfriend was my best friend for 5 years before we got together. He helped me through everything, break-ups, a divorce, and has litterally saved my life from pill overdose.. a couple times. When I was depressed and down and out, he was always there for me, he would walk to my house in the rain in a bad neighborhood in the middle of the night just to be there for me and support me. I made him mine!! :) Now I dont have any of those problems because I have him. So thats my story of kindness, my boyfriend and mom are the best in the world, and so are my kids!

I Ditto Denice on the lovely ladies I have too encounter since I found Listia. I too have a story since I have had a terrible last year and a half with back and medical problems and since I was not blessed with children and the child I had was the little guy in the picture, he was my reason for getting up in the mornings to inject him with insulin and feed and care for him as he also gave back to me in so many loving ways . And since he passed on me 6 months ago it has truly been hard to get up. Many of the ladies that have mentioned him ,know my story and I think it is time to remove his picture since it causes me tears to talk of him still. So my love and hugs and tears to all who struggles with life itself.

The 2 people that have my heart are my 2 wonderful children. I have a 10 yr old son and a 3 yr old daughter. Without then I have no reason to fight the health struggles that I face every day. They are my life and my best friends. <3

I have a little sister who is ten years younger than me, but I am still one of her best friends (I am 19, she is 9). I hope that through the years we grow stronger and that I hope she knows how much I love her. She's the most beautiful, funniest, adventurous girl in the world, and I know she'll succeed at whatever she wants (currently she wants to be a farmer!)
