Spain: Juan de la Cierva y Codorníu, 1st Count of De La Cierva; 21 September 1895 in Murcia, Spain – 9 December 1936 in Croydon, United Kingdom) was a Spanish civil engineer, pilot and aeronautical engineer. His most famous accomplishment was the invention in 1920 of the Autogiro, a single-rotor type of aircraft that came to be called autogyro in the English language. In 1923, after four years of experimentation, De la Cierva developed the articulated rotor, which resulted in the world's first successful flight of a stable rotary-wing aircraft, with his C.4 prototype. Please ask your questions prior to bidding. Once you win an auction, the stamps are yours. No buyer's remorse accepted here. If you ever receive a stamp you are not happy with, please message me first so we can attempt to settle the issue without getting Listia involved. Most of the time, you will get a replacement without question as I strive to make my buyers happy. I get really upset when there is a dispute filed and I don't know why or haven't been given a chance to resolve the issue first. So, please message me first..
Shipping is FREE within the United States. Please note, I need your verified address as soon as possible as I don't pull the winning auctions until I have it and if it goes too long, I will lose track of the auction. Please take a moment and do this for me. Thank you.
NOTE: It has come to my attention that I need to put the following foreign shipping rates and information on my listings: Shipping is $1.50 per stamp UNLESS you purchase at least 5 auctions/listings. At that time, shipping will be FREE. Any over 5 will so be shipped in the same package for FREE.
