Lots of people don't appreciate the history of such items, from a time when there was more trust in people, a time when people rarely locked their doors. Let's call it rescued. I might end and keep it in my accumulations.
i would have a hard time too with this one ! my dads house still takes skeleton keys :) his house is super old i lobe old stuff ! i have made friends with a local antique store lady she always says that i dont seem my age at all that i belong in hte 40's! lol she says she luvs that i appreciate and lobe old stuff i live hearing her road trip stories of going on trips to buy stuff ..
Arrowhead and artifacts are my favorite. Walking a cornfield and finding forgotten artifacts made 400+ years ago is awesome. I never sell any of my found Indian artifacts.
my dad lives out in riverside ca -lot of history the hwy leads to plam springs -h elives on old farm land -plus the morman army and mexican armys went thru there aaaand theres tons of ghost stories ! i found an old old govt. issue whiskey bottle in the crevice of this rock ..where suppos. this girl from a rich farm owner went to meet her lover he was a farmhand her dad didnt approve they were supposed to meet on this gigantic rock (right by dads take about 30mins ro climb)he didnt show and she killed herself ..i guess its true a friend of his looks up a lot of local history and legends -but intersting story love to share it ..hi listia :) lol
nice find! I like the old farm fencelines where the rainwater washes ravens, farmers would dump their household trash and back fill over it to try stopping washouts...dig deep enough some interesting glass usually survives, bottles, stoneware, marbles. I found an old porcelain sign once but only because old roofing had been dumped over it.
also have found arrowheads and diff. years of bullets ! how lucky your out in the country and can look 4 this stuff -the most im gonna find is one of those flatted pennys from disney land on my wwalks !
