Sehneelr1: It insulates your CPU and heat sink from too much heat. Your cpu already has some on it from the factory but, over time it loses its ability to move the heat. If this happens, you can fry your cpu. It's good to have if you have an old pc or you have taken your heat sink off the cpu more thatn a few times.
