Well, about 15 yrs ago a big northeastern storm hit where I used to live. After about two days of wind and especially wave action the storm had eroded a good six feet of bay side bank away and exposed a small cache of bottles;this poison bottle,2 blob top beer bottles, and an old milk bottle. An odd mixture to say the least!!

Very good point.I have a friend that I used to go bottle hunting with and we would try and find out where the old outhouses used to be and get permission to do some digging.Sometimes it would be productive and we would find what,100+ yrs ago, would be considered trash. Thanks and have fanned you also!

LOL,true story. It's amazing what a nor'eastern or a hurricane can uncover.Being at the right place at the right time and not minding getting drenched in the process!!

does the seam along side of the bottle go all way up the side to the top of the bottle?
Mar 20th, 2012 at 4:34:44 PM PDT by
Original
No.Actually the seam starts at the mouth of the bottle on two side and down the neck but looks like it terminates about a 1/2 inch down one side of the body of the bottle.I do not see a seam on most of the body or the base.Hope this helps.

Just to clarify, does the seam go into the two bands, at the neck of the bottle, one flatter and one more rounded, or are the two parts of the top free of seams?
Mar 20th, 2012 at 6:57:16 PM PDT by
Original
Hmm,not 100% sure what you mean. The seam(s) do go the length of the neck and you can feel them with your fingernail on the outside of the bottle. The inside of the neck, even though you can see the seam, feels smooth.I will try to get a photo of it tomorrow when I can get better light.

I wish I had more credits to bid on this. My mother collects bottles but I don't remember her ever having one like this.

Actually I am a transplant from the eastern shore of Delaware.Lived there for many years. Now I live more in the hilly part of Virginia about 40 miles south of D.C.Nice area but does not compare to the beaches and bays!
