The reason you can't play online with this game is because EA removed this game from their server when they bought out and terminated Pandemic, the makers of the Mercenaries series. Also, fanned and watching. :D

Oh okay, thanks for the info. But doesnt it usually just say it cant connect to the server instead of freezing? lol

yeah, laame. just like how it seems almost all the games you have to be online to play with someone else, instead of being able to play two players with someone else on the same ps3. dissapointing.lol :/
