The listing, Charming handcrafted upcycled retro style frame with 1950s beauty book cover inset has ended.
Using an unfinished wood frame with a simple peg stand, acrylic craft paint, glue and vintage materials I had on hand, I have crafted this retro-style frame decorated with the "buttons" from button-style clip-on or screw-back earrings from 1940s and 1950s in shades of beige, yellow, aqua, pink and white and an actual book cover from a 1955 beauty handbook. I reinforced it with cardboard and covered the back with a colorful cover from a vintage pamphlet, "McCall's Guide to Beauty."
The frame itself measures 6.5" wide by 8.5" tall and .5" deep. The opening accommodates a 4" by 6" picture. You can easily remove this picture and replace it, if you like, or fit another one over it. There is no glass over it; it is mounted on spotted paper matching the paper shown on the back, and the extra cardboard I mentioned, which is covered with that paper.
As this is a handcrafted item, it is one-of-a-kind and has its imperfections -- the earrings and the book cover used are very vintage. However, it is sturdily made. The peg stand is very primitive, but it works!
I will sign it for the winner and inscribe it on the back as you wish (or not....if you don't want it inscribed I'll just sign it).
