Description

The listing, ALOE RUPESTRIS "Tree Aloe" Off-Shoot with Roots (Hybrid - Not Aloe Vera) has ended.

A favorite of mine in the Aloe family! Winner will get the exact plant in the first picture. The 2nd picture shows it compared to the source plant and the 3rd picture is source plant only. I wanted to show you the grand presence this plant has when it matures. Mine is about 3 years old from an off shoot similar to this one. It reaches almost 5 feet from tip to tip!
Called Tree Aloe, Giant Aloe and others, this variety is related to the more common Aloe Vera. Planted outside or in large containers, this grand succulent can grow in excess of 8 feet! That's amazing!

Will be shipped BARE ROOT WITH MINIMAL SOIL FOR SAFE DELIVERY.

Please ask any questions before bidding please. All Listia rules apply. No refunds for emotional, sentimental, or just silly reasons.

About 25 years ago in Lake Wales, FL I saw a wild variant that had reached 10+, and, still had thick fleshy leaves at the base of the plant. The nearly needle sharp tips made it hard to reach the suckers. Each leaf was longer than my arm. Unfortunately, it didn't survive the hard freeze 2 years later. I haven't been able to find a similar plant anywhere. I think a migratory bird from Central/South America planted the seed. Do you have any ideas for what it might have been?

It's one of my favorites, so I have a little info. There are 5 or 6 aloe species that have growth similarities, and that can grow very big. I compared some on google and wiki, and I think the plant you had was indeed this one.. Do an image search for the aloe rupestris and go from there! Thanks for the great comment.
P.S. You have awesome auctions. Long time fan!
