Description
The listing, Dodecatheon meadia Seed Mix, Shooting Star, Native Perennial in Mixed Colors has ended.
This is a fantastic native plant for the woodland garden! It's a generous mixed packet of seed that will need to be sown either indoors under lights of outside in late winter for germinatin in spring. Plant the seedlings in good rich garden soil for a long lived perennial. The plant goes dormant in mid-summer so place it near a later sprouting perennial such as Hosta.
Questions & Comments
Checking out all of your beautiful flowers and put watches on some of the seeds. I'm an avid gardrner and love tons of color in our various rock, shade, full sun and other garden areas in our yard. Do you happen to know if any of your seeds would do well in Zone 9? I'm in Central Florida and you are in Vermont. I have successfully grown seeds from Delaware and other areas - some of them not so much. But I always love trying! Thanks and good luck with your auctions :)
Hi and thanks for you interest in my seed offerings! I'm not really sure how many of these would do well for you as most of them need a real cold dormancy period in order to flower well. So if your winter temps don't go below 40*f for any length of time I don't think they will be the right plants for you. You might want to do a bit of research before bidding. Good luck!
