Description

The listing, HP Photosmart M425 w/ SD Card PERFECT for Listia & Family Photos! has ended.

Winner gets this terrific photo and video camera--in perfect working conditioni--with a 256MB SD card. At 4,000 credits I will INCLUDE a brand-new SD card reader! At 6,000 credits I will include a BRAND NEW 1 GB SD card!

FREE US Shipping, will ship to Canada for $10.

The Photosmart M425 is a 5 megapixel camera capable of taking excellent closeups of small items--perfect for Listia! All of the photos shown here were taken with THIS camera (except the photos of the camera itself). Used but works perfectly, has many "scene" modes, and uses only two AA batteries (i.e. you don't have to plug it in and wait for it to charge).

I do not have the computer cord, but at 4,000 credits, the winner gets a NEW card reader, so you do NOT need the USB cord (which is available on Amazon.com for under $3). You plug the card reader into you computer USB, then insert the SD card to download photos (a much better method than connecting the camera to the computer).

* 5 MP resolution for poster-sized prints and 3x digital zoom
* Large 1.7-inch display
* 16 MB internal memory w/ SD/MMC card slot
* Picture modes: Auto (default), action, beach and snow, burst, fast shot, landscape, macro, night portrait, portrait, self timer, sunset

Photosmart software for editing is the software I use, and anyone can download it, and use it with ANY camera!

You will see more cameras on Listia. Try to get some auctions posted that will bring in a lot of credits and keep them in the bank for something special.

I looked at your listings--you have neat items, love the candles! Try offering free shipping. I know it seems insane, but you get SO many more credits when you offer free shipping it really is worth it ... allows you to bid on the higher-end items like cameras. Anything under 13 ounces packaged for shipping you can send with three stamps (or $1.22 if you go to the post office). A little food scale from the supermarket (or a thrift shop) lets you weigh small items like that.

Thanks, I'm very pleased with this listing, the winner will get a great camera and nice accessories! I have at least one more camera to list that also takes AA batteries, a Sony Cybershot. I've got a new Canon coming and if I like it better than the Canon I'm currently using I'll also list that. Canon cameras are still my favorites after trying all the others I've picked up at auctions!

Thanks Morgan! My other two cats were strays too ... little kittens who followed my niece home one day from high school. Three of them, we took two and they kept one. Love stray kitties! Wish I could have more, but really, three is enough!

It's a great camera that a lot of people love. I bought this used and haven't really used it much so I tested it out thoroughly the day before I listed it, and it's still in perfect working condition as far as I can tell. I've had pretty good luck buying used, but good quality, cameras.

Her name is Chilly, because a friend found her on the side of the road at only about 3 weeks old on a freezing November day. Once the little baby got warm enough to move she jumped right into a bowl of chilly! Her nickname is Dilly or Dillis. She's not a real smart cat, and she likes to sit on my shoulder like a bird.

Why so much for the camera? Not that it isn't totally worth it, seems like a great camera, but 10000 for a 5 mp seems a bit high XD
Although it is free shipping, always good ^^
And awesome cat too, by the way.

Well, I think it's partly because I always have complete listings, with lots of info and good photos. I also have great feedback because I always ship fast, and I'm honest in how I represent items on Listia. And, I always respond to everyone who comments or asks a question.

Other cameras have gone this high before. A few days ago a Canon ended at about 4,000 credits, but the seller was brand new with no feedback. I actually bid on it, because I figured I could either use it or list it again at a "profit" in credits, but I was bidding on the laptop, which I won, but had all my credits tied up (and now they are gone!).

So, it's just a combination of factors. You have to develop a reputation that people can trust, which takes some work and effort. I'm sure you can do it too!

Cat's name is Chilly. She's my darling baby ...

Is her name Chilly because you found her in the Winter when she was three weeks old?
May 20th, 2010 at 4:11:56 PM PDT by
Original
She was almost frozen to death, three weeks old and very tiny and skinny, with a horrible eye infection. A friend happened to notice her, picked her up and brought her home. She has a farm and fosters all sorts of abandoned animals, including horses and donkeys, and already had too many cats.

My daughter was at her house playing with her son, and they were eating chilly for lunch and the kitten jumped right into the bowl! Normally cats so small don't eat anything but milk from their mother, but this cat STILL acts like she's starving!

I took her, got her eye fixed up (but it's still funky, you can kind of see it in the photo). She's a really stupid cat compared to my other two. Not sure if it's because she was nearly starving as a baby or what, could be brain injury I guess, or maybe she just can't see that well. She's my special cat, that's for sure!.

Told ya I was still in...and yes I know I'm crazy for bidding this high but hey when you really want something, lol....we'll see how it goes, could even go higher yet :)
May 20th, 2010 at 8:26:19 PM PDT by

Y'know, I've seen a LOT of stuff go a LOT higher than it did just a month ago. I think we have more serious Listia members, who have more credits, and so bidding is getting higher on the better items than ever before. The first Ipad went for 38K, the second one for 78K! The first netbook (Craig's) went for 20K, and last week I paid 57K for the Listia rewards auction.

Although online auctions generally slow down in the summer (during school breaks) Listia seems to be gaining momentum! I think that's great ... I was planning to retire from Listia for the summer but my plans have changed!

I know, but for me I'm spending quite a bit of money on shipping and a lot of time. At some point I really need to back off, but it's so much fun I can't make myself do it!
May 21st, 2010 at 6:01:22 PM PDT by
Original
Yes I agree, I think I'm going to try and start charging shipping on some things, may get less credits but that way it's no money out of my pocket...it's adds up really fast!
May 21st, 2010 at 6:29:42 PM PDT by
Original
Yup, I keep trying to convince myself to charge for shipping, but I know that unless I have something incredible (like Lynn's jewelry) I'll just get sacked in the end, and it won't be worth all the trouble it takes to list and respond. As long as I can keep winning stuff that's worth at least as much as all the postage, I'm feeling pretty good about it.

This Camera Does Take A Memory Card Right? =)
May 13th, 2010 at 3:46:17 AM PDT by
Original
Yes, SD cards. I have included the 256 card you see in the photo, which can hold a LOT of photos. At 6,000 credits the winner gets an additional 1 GB card. SD cards are the most common type, and very reliable.

Yes, it does. If you look at the amazon link you'll see lots of folks who gave this camera wonderful reviews. The fact that it STILL sells for so much (long after they stopped making it) is quite a testament.

Thanks Siri, I try to be helpful. For Listia, it's really important to have good photos and most of the inexpensive cameras work great for family photos, but most can't take good detail closeups like this one. It should be a good camera for the winner!
