Description

The listing, VINTAGE BABE RUTH CARD " GEM MINT " has ended.

1973 Smithsonian Museum Babe Ruth Playing Card GRADED GEM MINT by PSA (The most respected grading authority in the industry). This card is decades old and it's in perfect condition. A rare find for a 44 year old card that children typically played with. This one is pristine. As beautiful as the day it was made. Original sharp edges and great color with the luster of newness, but it's old. This would be an amazing gift for any baseball nut.
Babe Ruth had a lifetime batting average of .342 with 2,873 hits, 714 Home Runs and 2,213 Runs Batted In. As a pitcher, he had a 94-46 win-loss record with a 2.28 ERA. He was a seven time World Series Champion. American League MVP in 1923. AL batting Champion in 1924. Twelve time AL home run leader. Six time AL RBI leader. AL ERA leader in 1916. New York Yankees #3 retired. Major League Baseball All Time team. Inducted to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. Nicknamed The Bambino, and The Sultan of Swat.
I may be a little out of my mind, but guess what ? I am offering this tremendously awesome card up with NO MINIMUM opening bid. Totally at Risk ! This is an INVESTMENT GRADE CARD, and it's unprotected. Whatever it goes for. I may be sorry for doing this, but hey, what's the fun of never taking a risk. Who wants it the most? Dig deep and cash in your Listia points on something sensational. I buy, sell and trade. They call me the Sultan of Swap.

My instinct on this one is to let it go to the highest bidder. I have a strong feeling it will do very well. That said, I am a never say never person, so, if you're inclined to make me an offer I can't refuse, I am always listening. Thanks for your interest.

So far, my highest private GIN offer is 3 million. I turned it down. Like I said before, I may be crazy. Should be a photo finish on this listing.

why do you have the back covered with a card? thanks
Mar 27th, 2017 at 11:27:01 PM PDT by

There is nothing covered. This item IS a vintage playing card from 1973 produced as a souvenir deck by the Smithsonian Institute. From what I am told, these limited edition playing cards were for sale in the Smithsonian retail gift shop in Washington DC.

Yes, it is a playing card. It was part of a 52 card deck made in 1973 and very rare.
