Description

The listing, PRICKLY PEAR CACTUS (Opuntia) 3 Pups ***Cold Hearty***Drought Resistant*** has ended.

I couldn't wait any longer. I have been "chomping at the bit" to list a Live Plant Auction! Lets see how this goes!
The winner will receive the exact plants shown in the pictures. The last picture is a web shot to show a mature plants bloom.
Each pad is about 2 - 3 inches in height. They are rooting nicely and will likely have starter roots when it arrives. Shipped BARE ROOT with minimal soil for safe & healthy shipping.
Be advised THE TINES ARE BRUTAL WHEN THEY STICK!!! There are many fuzzy stickers too, so these are really only suited for outside. Drought tolerant and cold tolerant to below zero degrees. I would wager the Prickly Pear Opuntia could even survive a nuclear bomb.

So, there you have it, my first plant listing of 2017! Please remember to play nice and don't make any comments you wouldn't want your mom to read. All Listia Rules must be followed. Failure to follow the rules will result jail time.
Please ask any questions before you bid. No refunds or regrets!
Have fun and bid your Opuntia off!
***I have a bunch of this, so if you would like a larger quantity, please pvt message me!***

Awesome auction! I know all to well the pokers on these. I was pushed into a plant when I was a kid. I love that this is an edible plant and a deterrent too.

Thanks and it's always nice to see you at an auction of mine. My mother would very carefully peal the pears, slice them, then put them into the freezer until almost frozen. I ate them off toothpicks. Sooooo good!

Hey there, Ruthann! I love spring. My favorite season, without question! The winter has been almost nonexistant here. Temps in high 70's. My Cannas & Iris' are confused! I'm so happy to get your comments, good friend!

I used to see lots in Arizona but the blooms were always red, is it common for them to be yellow, and doesn't make a difference if they are?

I've seem pictures of the red blooms but it seems that yellow is more native to TX & OK. I would love to find some red ones!

I believe they make the Noni juice from the red ones and that's all I have ever seen in Arizona although I'm sure there are yellow, also…

My mom made jam from the pears. Occasionally I heard her swearing at the stickers! LOL
