Personal Note : I hired Lou as a celebrity autograph guest for a baseball card convention held at the Baseball Fan-Attic on July 17th, 1987. Unfortunately Lou missed his plane and sent me a cancellation Western Union Telex from the airport on the day of the show. Disappointed guest were able to leave their items with me, which Lou signed and returned by mail. The show wasn't a total loss, as my other guest for the Superstar Doubleheader ( Bob Gibson ) showed up as scheduled.
