Chacin was signed by the Rockies out of Venezuea in 2004, at the age of 16. He made it to the majors in 2009, at the age of 21. A great young prospect signed to pitch in Denver, the City Where Great Pitchers Go To Die, Chacin bucked the trend and has proven that he was more productive with the Rockies between 2009-2014 as he has been since leaving Colorado. In 2013, he compiled 14 wins and a 3.47 ERA for the Rckies (which real baseball fans recognize as great numbers considering the city he pitched in). He pitched to a 3.28 ERA as a rookie.
