Description

The listing, Megalodon Shark Tooth, possible Ancient Tool #7 has ended.

This is a Megalodon Shark Tooth, it is from an ancient extinct species of shark that preceded the dinosaurs. Some ancient cavemen, then Indain tribes made spear points and arrow heads out of these teeth, as well as tools and hide scrapers, My boyfriend acquired some new teeth while fossil hunting in Florida, so 3 of the 6 teeth I am posting over the next week look like they may have been tools or points. Spear heads, arrowheads, hide scrappers and digging tools are known to have been utilized by both ancient man and native indians. Free shipping with quick mailing after winner's address is received.

The picture was taken too close to the quarter, which is pictured at the left. The size is 1 1/2 times the height of the quarter next to it, look at my other teeth for a similar view. With the root ears broken off, it looks the perfact size for ancient man to have used this for an arrowhead.

Megalodon Teeth were different sizes, based on the age of the shark, the position in the mouth of the top and bottom rows of 16 teeth across, and the file rows of 6-8 teeth growing behind the front teeth, ready to replace the front teeth, damaged or lost by the agressive feeding frenzy of the sharks. The Cooper River in SC and the Calverts Cliffs along the Potomac, in VA. have huge teeth, These smaller teeth are the right size for tools, and my boyfriend finds lots of them. Other species he finds are Tiger, Lemon, Snaggletooth, Bull, Dusky, Mako, Sand and Great White. He has lots of pictures on his Facebook album and belongs to 3 fossil clubs here in FL. so he knows for certain these are Megs, that I am posting. He is choosing the best that are tool-shaped knives, points and hide scrappers for me to auction.

Did you read the comment that the second picture I posted are of alternate Mako shark's and Megalodon shark's teeth? If you stand by your opinion, then the Southwest Florida Fossil Club, the Fossil Club of Lee County and the Tampa Bay Fossil Club memberships are all misinformed, as well as the Aquaventure Scuba Club, the oldest scuba club in Florida! My boyfriend is a 38 year's experenced scuba diver and a 15+ year's fossil hunter here in Florida.

Ma"am are you sure these are megaladon teeth? Megaladon was the size of a schoolbus, his teeth were larger than your hand , your shark teeth are prehistoric fossils, but I don't know about megaladon. If you can provide proof, I'll be glad to bid Thanks

Well, it looks like it could have been used as a tool, and I believe that there may be many sizes of meg teeth, and we ARE bidding with credits, not really money, and everyone should do their research, but geez, if I want it, I bid on it, if not, I don't! F&B! Thanks for a great listing a great debate!

all I ask is when are you going to put up the one on the picture on the right of grouping. That would be the size I would like for a Megaladon to bid on. Just wondering if you were going to put up larger ones?
