Yes; that is what I made them for was my cast iron, And yes I make them, I was getting tired of burning my hands every time I used a commercial pot holder, So I set out to design my own potholders that were user-friendly. Made with canvas and fire retardant material on the inside, so your pot holder will not melt when handling over 450*
